Neuropsychology in Segovia – Celia Charro
Assessment, diagnosis and guidance to understand cognitive functioning
Assess, understand, and improve how your brain works
Through neuropsychology, I analyze cognitive and emotional functioning to identify difficulties and provide clear, personalized guidance.
Assessment
Overall assessment of higher cognitive functions, daily functioning and psychopathological status.
Diagnosis
Feedback on the information gathered through a testing protocol and clinical interview, provided in a neuropsychological report. The report describes any difficulties the patient may experience in everyday, work, school or social settings, and also provides guidance on prognosis.
Consultation
Professional guidance and advice for families and patients on the cognitive difficulties and behavioural changes that may occur in people with neurological conditions.

Neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis
Neuropsychology is the discipline that studies the relationship between the brain and behavior. During consultations, I carry out a comprehensive assessment of higher cognitive functions, such as attention, memory, language, executive functions, and general psychological well-being.
This assessment provides an overall picture of a person’s functioning in everyday life, both personally and academically or professionally. Based on this assessment, I prepare a
detailed neuropsychological diagnosis
using a protocol of specific tests and a clinical interview.
The findings are presented in a report explaining the difficulties identified, how they affect daily life and how they may progress. It also includes clear
guidance
on prognosis and possible treatment options, enabling informed decisions tailored to each case.

Personalised advice and guidance
The neuropsychological process does not end with a diagnosis. A key part of my work is providing guidance and practical strategies to help manage difficulties in everyday life.
I provide guidance to both the patient and those around them (family, educational or work environment), offering tools to understand cognitive or behavioral changes that may occur. This support is key to improving adjustment and quality of life.
The aim is for the assessment to be a useful tool—not just to understand what is happening, but also to take effective action and improve day-to-day functioning.

Issues and areas I work with
I work in both child and adult neuropsychology, tailoring assessments to each stage of development. The main difficulties I address include:
- ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
- Learning disorders
- Dyslexia
- Neurodevelopmental disorders
- Giftedness
I also work with adults on:
- Mild cognitive impairment or dementia
- Acquired brain injury

These difficulties can affect different areas of life, so a thorough assessment is essential to understand their causes and develop an intervention tailored to each case.
