Neurofeedback in Segovia – Celia Charro
Non-invasive brain training to improve cognitive and emotional functioning
Train your brain for more balanced functioning
Neurofeedback is an advanced technique I use to help you improve brain activity and achieve greater wellbeing naturally and in a personalised way.
Some basic information about Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is an emerging therapy and is part of a group of treatments known as neurotherapies, which act directly on brain function.
It is a non-invasive brain-training technique. By recording and displaying brain electrical activity in real time, we can change how the brain functions and help it develop a more efficient and balanced state.

Neurofeedback treatment begins with a clinical interview and a measurement of brain wave patterns at different points in the brain. Brain waves (delta, theta, alpha, beta and gamma) are divided into slow and fast waves, which have a well-established distribution in the human brain. This data is digitized and analyzed so we can see which waves are overactive or below their activation level, and in which areas of the brain. With this information, we can design personalized neurofeedback training programs, reinforcing certain types of neural activity and inhibiting others.

What happens during a neurofeedback session?
- It is not a painful procedure (only sensors are attached to the scalp, as in an EEG).
- It’s non-invasive (nothing is inserted into the patient; the electrode only records brain activity in the area).
- It is safe as long as it is carried out by a mental health or neuroscience professional with well-established expertise.
- Lasting effect (we learn to improve the balance of our brain activity).
- Supported by hundreds of scientific studies demonstrating its effectiveness and reliability.

What are these treatments used for?
- Attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity (ADHD/ADD).
- Learning disorders (dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia)
- Neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Cognitive impairment and dementia.
- Fibromyalgia.
- Epilepsy.
- Depression.
- Anxiety.
- Sleep disorders
- Burnout, stress
- Performance improvement (executives, civil service exam candidates, athletes…)
